# World boxing championship

  • Nikhat beat Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Tam by a 5-0 verdict in the 50 KG final to become only the second Indian after Marykom to clinch more than one World Championship gold.
  • Lovlina defeated Australia’s Caitlin Parker in the 75 kg final and won her maiden world title.
  • India topped the medals tally with 4 golds, followed by China (3 gold) and matched their best ever performance at the worlds in 2006.
  • It is the best show in the event since Women’s boxing became an Olympic sport 11 years ago.

# Home loan

  • A year ago, home loans were at a decadal low interest rate of 6.5%.
  • But in the last 10 months home loan borrowers have seen a sharp 250 basis points increase in interest rates.
  • Those who borrowed at 6.5% in April 2022 are now billed at 9%, resulting in their repayment tenure extending beyond retirement.

  • The GSLV MK-3 took off at 9am and completed the nearly 20 minutes launch sequence before separation with textbook precision.
