GST collections rose 12.4% to ₹149577 crore in February despite a slow down in the mop up from the imported goods.
February collections marked the 12th straight month of the kitty being above ₹1.4 lakh crore.
The number also showed that cess collections last month were at a record level of ₹11931 crore.
Meanwhile, prompted by early onset of summer, farm sector demand and increased mobility, fuel sales continued to gallop in February with petrol consumption up 13%, diesel up by 12% and jet fuel by almost 41%.
# Internet shutdown
India imposed the highest number of internet shutdowns globally in 2022, a new report by digital rights advocacy firm shows.
Out of the 187, internet shutdowns recorded globally by Access now in the year, 84 took place in India.
Out of 84 internet shutdowns, 49 happened in Kashmir.
India also topped the list as the country with most internet shutdowns by the state for the fifth consecutive year.
