# Supreme Court

  • The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to stay the election commission’s decision to allot the Shiv sena party name and the bow and arrow symbol to Eknath Shinde led group.
  • This Election commission decision has led to recognition of shinde faction as the real Shiv sena based on its strength in the Lok sabha and the Maharashtra assembly.
  • The bench also declined to restrain the Shinde group from taking over the assets and bank accounts of the Shiv sena, which in turn could lead to a squeeze on the financial resources of the Uddhav Thackeray faction.

  • The US state Department is rolling out a series of steps to ensure Indians wanting to go America for studies, works, business and family visits can get visa faster and more conveniently.
  • US officials outlined moves that have already reduced wait times for visas from over 1000 days to 580 days.
  • US officials also acknowledged that the wait time need to be reduced further.

# FBI

  • Sikhs were the second most targeted religious groups after Jews in hate motivated crimes in the US in 2021.
  • FBI report said Hindus and Muslims made up 1% and 9.5% of the 1005 offences recorded that year.
  • There were 214 hate crimes against Sikhs and 10 against Hindus, according to FBI data.
  • Eight people were fatally shot including four Sikhs in a warehouse.

  • In its January 24 report on the Adani group, Hindenburg research had said seven stocks within the group were about 85% over valued.
  • Nearly a month on, Adani total gas is Within striking distance of achieving that valuation.
  • Two more shares are nearing the 85% mark, that is Adani green and Adani transmission.
