# India-Singapore

  • India and Singapore on Tuesday linked the United payment interface network with Singapore’s Pay now, enabling instant fund transfers between users in both countries.
  • The cost of fund transfer will be much lower than going through banks.
  • With the link in place, money in bank accounts or e-wallets can be transferred using UPI-ID, mobile number Or Virtual payment address.
  • The new mechanism will allow Indians to transfer upto ₹60000 Or SGD 1000 a day.

# Supreme Court

  • In a historic step, the Supreme Court on Tuesday began live transcription of proceedings before a five judge Constitution bench hearing petitions filed by the Shiv sena faction led by Uddhav Thackeray.
  • The live transcription started before a Constitution bench hearing as an experiment and could be expanded in future.
  • It will create a permanent record of arguments.
  • It will also benefit law students who can analyse how matters are argued in the Supreme Court.

# Russia

  • Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday delivered a nuclear warning to the West over Ukraine.
  • Russia also suspended the last remaining nuclear arms control pact with the US.
  • Meanwhile, US President Biden pledged that the US and its allies will back Ukraine.

# Shiv sena

  • The Supreme Court granted urgent hearing on Wednesday to the Uddhav Thackeray group’s plea for a stay on the Election commission order declaring Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde’s faction as the real Shiv Sena.
  • CJI has agreed to hear the case on the urgent basis.
