# Mathura court

  • The court of additional civil judge Sonika verma in Mathura has sought a survey report of the Shahi idgah mosque complex by a revenue department official by January 20.
  • Though the direction went out on December 8, it was only on Saturday that they became publicly known, on the day that the court closed for winter break.
  • Hindu petitioners have sought the grand mosque’s shifting, claiming it was built at the birthplace of Lord Krishna.
  • The order came in the suit ‘Bal krishna and others versus intezamia committee and others’.

# Health ministry

  • Union health minister Mansukh mandaviya on Saturday said the government is considering making RT PCR test mandatory for passengers arriving in India from China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand in the wake of a surge of Covid-19 infections in these countries.
  • Filling up the air Suvidha form to declare the health status will be made mandatory for passengers coming from these countries.
  • Meanwhile, the centre has asked states to ensure availability of medical oxygen in all health facilities and an uninterrupted supply chains from refills.

# Airlines

  • Only about 20% of the world’s current, in service airline fleet comprises latest generation aircraft.
  • most of the commercial airline aircraft in use today are previous generation fuel guzzlers.
  • But India is far ahead, in the aspect of decarbonisation as 59% of its airline fleet comprises latest generation, fuel generation aircraft, as per data provided by European aerospace corporation.

# Taliban

  • The Taliban government on Saturday ordered all foreign and domestic non governmental organizations in Afghanistan to suspend employees women, allegedly because some female employees did not wear the Islamic headscarf correctly.
  • They also separately banned women from attending religious classes at the mosques in the capital city of Kabul.
