PM Narendra Modi reviewed India-Russia bilateral ties in a phone conversation with President Vladimir Putin.
The focus was on ramping up cooperation in Energy, agriculture and mutual investment.
According to the Indian government, in context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, PM modi reiterated his call for dialogue and diplomacy as the only way forward for resolving the Ukraine conflict.
PM Modi’s emphasis on “dialogue and diplomacy” for the resolution of the conflict came even as Russia unleashed a wave of missiles at Kyiv, Kharkiv and other Ukrainian cities.

One in every nine persons in India is at risk of developing cancer in his/her lifetime, reveals a study carried out by the ICMR – National centre for disease informatics and reserve.
It is based on a statistical analysis of the number of new cases of disease being reported in the country vis a vis the number of individuals in the population at risk.
According to the study, which has been published in the Indian journal of medical research, one in every 67 men is at risk of developing lung cancer and one in 29 women is at risk of developing breast cancer in their lifetime (0-74) years.
It is estimated that 14.6 lakh people were affected by cancer in India in 2022.

The Indian diaspora comprises Approximately 4.9 million individuals residing in the United States, who were either born in India or reported Indian ancestry or origin.
This study has been released by migration policy Institute, which is a think tank.
Indians ranked tenth on the diaspora charts.
The Chinese diaspora comprising of 5.4 million is ranked ninth.

India’s cold demand growth is expected to be the fastest in the world at 7%, followed by European Union at 6% and China less than 1% as global consumption is poised to hit a record 8 billion tonnes this year, according to the International energy agency.
Forecasting a 4% growth in India’s power demand, the agency expects the country’s coal demand to increase by 70 million tonnes.
