# India-UK ties

  • As India and the UK look to iron out differences over the proposed free trade agreement, PM Modi on Thursday said he and his UK counterpart Rishi Sunak have agreed on the importance of an early conclusion of a “comprehensive and balanced” trade agreement.
  • Rishi sunak thanked PM Modi for his tweet saying “India and UK share so much”.
  • The conversations between the two PM took place a day ahead of UK foreign secretary James cleverly’s arrival in India for the UNSC counter terrorism committee special meeting and for a bilateral meeting with his counterpart.

# Tata-airbus

  • Just one and a half month after the ₹1.5 lakh crore Vedanta-Foxconn project went to Gujarat, Maharashtra again lost out to Gujarat for the ₹22000 crore Tata-Airbus project.
  • Tata-Airbus project is for manufacturing of 56 military transport aircraft that will replace Indian Airforce aging Avro fleet.
  • A high ranking Maharashtra Airport development Corporation official said that three years ago a section of Tata officials had visited MADC’s Nagpur office to seek information on the availability of land at Mihan, Nagpur.

# Meta

  • Meta platforms shareholders are paying dearly for its spending on the metaverse.
  • The Facebook parent’s market value has collapsed by a whooping $677 billion this year, forcing it out from the ranks of the world’s 20 largest companies.
  • The punishment shows no time of easing anytime soon.

# Energy demand

  • India will see the largest increase in energy demand of any country through 2021.
  • According to the world energy outlook 2022, released by the International energy agency, the growth in India’s energy demand will rise at more than 3% annually.
