# United Kingdom

  • Rishi sunak officially became the UK prime Minister and the country’s first British Indian, first non white and first hindu leader to hold this office.
  • Rishi sunak aged 42 years is the youngest British prime minister in 210 years.
  • Rishi sunak on Tuesday retained several senior ministers from predecessor Liz truss’ top team including Jeremy Hunt as finance minister, James cleverly as foreign secretary and Ben Wallace in the Defense.
  • Rishi Sunak is a former investment banker and hedge fund partner.

# Crackers

  • Despite a dip in production, the fireworks industry in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu has seen a business between ₹4000 crore and ₹5000 crore due to good sale of crackers this diwali.
  • A hub for fireworks manufacturing Virudhunagar contributes to about 90% of the country’s total production.
  • There are over 1000 fireworks units in the district and nearly eight lakh employees are directly and indirectly dependent on this industry for their livelihood.

  • Google’s regulatory troubles in India are mounting with fairplay regulator CCI slapping a fresh ₹936 crore penalty on the US tech giant for abusing monopoly through its app aggregator playstore.
  • The fine comes within a week of the company being ordered to pay ₹1338 crore for following anti competition practices in relation to Android mobile devices.
  • Google was also found to be following discriminatory practices by not using GPBS for you tube, which is its own application.
