# Election Commission

  • A day after the election Commission released the proposed proforma for political parties to detail their electoral promises and disclose how they plan to fund them.
  • Law minister Kiren Rijiju told on Wednesday that the government is in discussion with Election commission and considering giving legislative backing to “major electoral reforms” through amendments in the Representation of people’s act.
  • The central government will take steps after due consultation for electoral reforms, which are required as per the new changing times.

# India

  • India was the world’s top producer of sugar during the just ended Sugar marketing year and was the second largest exporter.
  • Official data released by the government on Wednesday pegged India’s exports during 2021-22 sugar season at 1.1 crore tonnes, 58% higher than the previous year.
  • This export helped in generating forex inflows of around ₹40000 crore.

# European Union

  • The European Union has withdrawn preferential tarrifs for many Indian imports including textiles and apparels.
  • Over the years, US and EU have withdrawn the preferential duty accesss to Indian goods as the country saw an improvement in income levels and competitiveness.

# Apple

  • Apple is asking its suppliers to move some airpods and beats headphone production to India.
  • Iphone assembler foxconn is preparing to make beats headphones in India.
