# Maharashtra

  • The opposition BJP on Tuesday night requested Maharashtra governor Bhagat singh koshyari to order a floor test in the assembly.
  • The BJP delegation led by the leader of the opposition Devendra Fadanvis, along with senior leaders Ashish shelar on Tuesday met the governor and urged him to ask the Thackeray government to prove majority in the assembly.
  • Devendra fadanvis said that this MVA government is in minority.
  • Around 39 shiv sena MLA’s have joined rebel leader and second in command Eknath Shinde.
  • The group is demanding that Shiv sena quit the MVA coalition comprising Nationalist congress party and congress coalition in the government.

  • Leaders of the world’s wealthiest democracies struck a United stance to support Ukraine for “as long as it takes”.
  • G7 Leaders said that they would explore far reaching steps to cap Kremlin income from oil sales that are fuelling the war.
  • The leaders also agreed on a ban on imports of Russian gold and to step up aid to countries hit with food shortages by the blockade of Ukraine grain shipments through the black Sea.

  • Scotland’s government on Tuesday drew the battle lines for a legal and political tussle with London as it announced plans to hold a second independent referendum on October 19,2023.
  • Six years ago, Scotland voted to stay in the UK and current polls suggest Scots remain evenly divided on the question of Independence.
  • UK government says the 2014 plebiscite settled the matter for a generation.

# Online skill gaming

  • Raising the goods and services tax on the online skill games from the existing 18% to 28% could cause the demise of the industry in the country, cautioned skill gaming associations.
  • The GST council began a two day meeting on Tuesday, with the panel said to be considering an increase in the tax rate on online games of skill.
