World military spending continued to grow in 2021, reaching a record $2.1 trillion despite the economic fallout of the pandemic.
This data on global military spending has been published by the Stockholm international peace research Institute.
The five largest spenders in 2021 were US, China, India, UK and Russia.
Top 5 countries account for over 62% of global military spending.
India’s military spending of $76.6 billion ranked third in the world.
# FCRA
The ministry of home affairs (MHA) has cancelled the FCRA registration of Commonwealth human rights in initiative ( CHRI).
CHRI is an international NGO that works for human rights in Commonwealth countries.
FCRA registration is mandatory for any NGO or association to receive foreign funds.
The CHRI moved the Delhi High Court against the suspension, but the court in February refused to interfere with the MHA’s decision.

Emmanuel macron pledged to address deep division within France as results showed a clear presidential election win over Marine Le Pen, acknowledging that many had voted for him mainly to thrawt the far right challenger.
Final results of sunday’s runoff showed Mr Macron won 58.54% of the vote against 41.45% of Ms Lee Pen.

Entities in India had filed 138000 tech parents in the country and more than 9500 patents in the US from 2015 to 2021.
This data has been revealed from the India patents report published by Nasscom.
More than 60% of the patents were filed by Indian firms and start ups while 17% of the tech patents were filed by individual investors/academia research outfits.
