# Russia – Ukraine war

  • Russian President Vladimir Putin said that a large number of Indian students continue to remain hostage in a train station in kharkiv by Indian students.
  • President putin also said that Neo nazis are open firing at foreign students in which two Chinese citizens have been injured.
  • Both Russia and Ukraine have agreed to create a humanitarian corridor to let the foreign nationals exit.
  • The second round of talks were held on Thursday but no major breakthrough was achieved.

# Defence acquisition

  • The Defence ministry has accorded in principle approval to four projects under Make -1, government funded and five under make – 2, industry funded categories of defence acquisition procedure 2020.
  • It includes development of a light tank for army and communication equipped for the Indian air force.
  • The industry will be provided financial support for prototype development of these projects.

# Srilanka

  • A crippling fuel shortage and consequent power cuts across Srilanka are threatening to worsen the Island nation’s persisting economic crisis.
  • Srilanka is unable to pay for fuel imports.
  • Last month, Srilanka got a $500 million loan from India for fuel import.

# YouTube

  • The creator ecosystem at YouTube contributed an estimated ₹6800 crore to the Indian GDP.
  • It has generated more than 6.83 lakh full time equivalent jobs in India in 2020.
  • The study is based on surveys in 2021, with more than 6000 Indian users and businesses.
