# Maharashtra

  • Nawab malik, Maharashtra’s minister of minority Development and skill development was remanded in Enforcement Directorate custody for seven days in Wednesday.
  • He was arrested in a money laundering case connected to fugitive terrorist Dawood Ibrahim and his associates.
  • Dawood Ibrahim’s Sister Haseena Parker transferred the rights of the property to Nawab malik for a substantial amount of ₹55 lakh when the property was worth ₹3.3 crore.
  • These cases are enough to make a case under Prevention of money laundering act.

# Jammu and Kashmir

  • The lieutenant governor’s administration on Wednesday approved a policy on Foreign direct investment for J&K with a minimum of 51% foreign stake.
  • L-G Manoj sinha, who headed a meeting of the Administrative council in Jammu, gave his nod for the policy for promotion of Foreign investment in the industrial sector in J&K.
  • The J&K FDI policy aims to facilitate foreign investments greater than ₹100 crore with a minimum of 51% foreign stake.
  • The government said the land allotment process will be regulated by the J&K industrial land allotment policy, 2021-30.

# Offline exams

  • The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed a plea to stop authorities from holding physical examinations for classes 10 and 12 in 2022 because of the pandemic.
  • A bench led by Justice A. N Khanwilkar termed the petition ill-adviser and premature.

# MILAN

  • Amid escalating tensions Ukraine and Russia, Warships of Quad countries France, Myanmar, South Korea and Vietnam and Several others will come together at Vishakhapattanam for the largest multilateral exercise MILAN, hosted by Indian Navy.
  • The exercise scheduled from February 25 to March 4, will see participation of around 42 countries.
  • The US will be joining the exercise for the first time.
