# Ukraine

  • Russia said on Tuesday that many of its forces surrounding Ukraine has been withdrawn.
  • But, US and NATO has said that they are not convinced by this announcement of pull out.
  • In Ukraine,the defence ministry said its web portal had been hit by an Unprecedented cyber attack that was into its second day.
  • India on Wednesday set up control rooms and released emergency phone numbers for students and professionals, who are based in Ukraine.

# Covid-19 curbs

  • The centre on Wednesday informed the states that they may review, amend or end additional covid-19 restrictions as cases are seeing a declining trend.
  • The test positivity rate on February 15 had declined to 3.63℅.
  • The average daily cases in the last week stood at 50476.
  • The Union ministry of health has accordingly revised its guidelines for international arrivals.

# Solar waste handling

  • While India ramps up its solar power capacity, the nation does not yet have a firm policy on managing waste that results from used solar panels or from the manufacturing process.
  • The International renewable energy agency last December estimated that the global photovoltaic waste will touch 78 million tonnes by 2050.

# Defence expo

  • Defence expo 2022, to be held in Gujarat for the first time, is expected to see the participation of more than 1000 companies.
  • It will include over 100 foreign companies from over 55 countries that have sent confirmation so far.
  • The 12th edition of Defence expo is scheduled from March 10 to 13 in Gandhinagar.
