# Beijing olympics

  • India announced the diplomatic boycott of the opening ceremony of winter Olympics.
  • The decision of boycott was taken after China chose a PLA soldier who fought in Galwan as one of the torch bearer’s of Winter Olympics.
  • State broadcaster Doordarshan also announced that it will not telecast the opening and closing ceremony of the winter Olympics.

# Haryana job qouta

  • The Punjab and Haryana high court on Thursday granted an interim stay on the controversial law for reservation of 75℅ jobs in private companies, societies and trusts for local Haryana candidates.
  • Several industrial associations of Haryana have welcomed the order.
  • Deputy chief minister Dushyant chautala tweeted that the government would keep on fighting for the reservation of the local youth.

# Tamil Nadu

  • Tamil nadu governor R.N. Ravi has returned to the assembly speaker a bill seeking to dispense with NEET based admissions for undergraduate medical degree courses.
  • The Tamil nadu government said it would take steps to adopt the same bill in the assembly again.
  • The bill adopted by assembly in September sought to admit students to Under graduate medical degree programmes on the basis of plus two scores.

# Chandrayaan – 3

  • India plans to execute the Chandrayaan – 3 mission this August, minister Jitendra singh informed in Lok sabha.
  • The Chandrayaan – 3 mission is a follow up of Chandrayaan – 2 of July 2019, which aimed to land a rover on the lunar South Pole.

# Life insurance corporation of India

  • State run life insurance corporation of India embedded value has been finalised at more than $5 trillion rupees.
  • LIC is expected to offer an IPO in coming months.
