Minister of women and child development Smriti Irani said that government has started the process of comprehensive amendments to criminal laws related to marital rape.
Smriti Irani also warned against condemning every man as a rapist and every marriage as a violent one.

Mahatma Gandhi national rural employment gurantee scheme (MGNREGA) workers are still waiting for almost 3360 crore rupees in pending wages.
The largest pending payments are in West Bengal, Uttar pradesh and Rajasthan, government replied in Rajya sabha.
This comes as the centre reduced its budget allocation for the scheme by 25℅ in comparison to revised estimates for the current year.

The country recorded 171934 new covid-19 cases on Wednesday.
The total number of infections has reached 4.17 crore and the active cases have crossed the 15.6 lakh mark.
Kerala recorded 52199 infections on Wednesday, followed by Karnataka (20, 505) and Maharashtra (18, 067).
The test positivity rate was 9.8℅.
