Five terrorists were killed in two separate operations by the police and the army in Kashmir on Sunday.
Zahid Ahmad wani was a top commander of Jaish e Mohammed who was among five killed.
Four terrorists were killed in Pulwama’s Naira area.
Wani was a categorised terrorist active since may 2017.
# Department of Telecom
The government has mandated storage of data on international calls, satellite phone calls, conference calls and messages over normal networks and on the internet for a period of atleast two years.
This circular had been issued by the Department of Telecom.
The move follows an amendment made in the unified license (UL) in December which extended storage of call data records as well as Internet logs to two years from one year.
Unified license holders are Telecom companies such as Bharti Airtel, Reliance jio, Vodafone idea and BSNL.
# Brahmos
The Philippines had signed a $375 million deal for Brahmos Supersonic cruise missile last week to be operated by the Philippines marine.
There is another long pending deal under discussion for Brahmos missiles for the Philippines army.
Although, India has sold Brahmos to Philippines, India still does not have a defence attache in Philippines capital Manila.
# Digital IDs
The government has invited stakeholders comments on a proposal that seeks to establish ‘Federated digital identities’ to optimise the number of digital identities that a citizen need to have.
This digital ID will link various consumer identification data into a single unique ID for digital transactions such as authentication and eKYC processes.
The proposal is part of the Electronics and IT ministry’s India Enterprise Architecture 2.0 framework.
