# Election Commission

  • The election Commission of India on Saturday decided to continue the ban on large rallies and roadshows till January 31 for the assembly elections in February.
  • Election commission has allowed outdoor meetings of upto 500 persons for candidates of the first two phases of polling.
  • The election commission had placed a ban on all physical rallies and processions while announcing the Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttar pradesh and Uttarakhand elections on January 8.

# Bird Atlas

  • The Kerela bird atlas is the first of its kind state level bird Atlas in India.
  • This atlas has created solid baseline data about the distribution and abundance of bird species across all major habitats of Kerela.
  • This survey is conducted as a science citizen driven exercise with the participation of over 1000 volunteers of the bird watching community.
  • The kerela bird atlas has been prepared based on systematic surveys held twice over 60 days a year during the wet (July to September) and dry (January to march) seasons between 2015-2020.

# Jammu and Kashmir

  • The administration in Jammu and Kashmir is pushing hard to convince Dubai based investors to explore investment opportunities in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

# India-China trade

  • India’s total imports from China crossed a record $97.5 billion last year.
  • The total trade reached a whooping $125 billion.
  • India’s imports have jumped much faster than exports to China.
