# Vaccination drive

  • India has approved two more covid-19 vaccines and the anti viral drug Molnupiravir under emergency use authorisation, union health minister Mansukh mandaviya tweeted on Tuesday.
  • Currently, India uses Covishield, Covaxin and Sputnik V for vaccination.
  • Corbevax, is a protein subunit vaccine to be made by Hyderabad based Biological-E.
  • Covovax is a nanoparticle based vaccine to be manufactured by Serum Institute of India.

# Resident doctors

  • Resident doctors continued to boycott work for the 12th day on Tuesday in protest against the delay in NEET-PG counseling.
  • About 5000-6000 resident doctors from multiple city hospitals boycotted all works except covid-19 duty on Tuesday.
  • Union health Minister Mansukh mandaviya said that the matter is subjudice in supreme Court and decision will be taken accordingly.

# Corbevax

  • Biological-E has announced plans to ramp up production of Corbevax.
  • Biological-E plans to complete production of the vaccine at the rate of 75 million doses a month.

# Chinese space station

  • Beijing on Tuesday accused the US of irresponsible and unsafe conduct in space over two close encounters between the Chinese space station and satellites operated by Elon musk’s Spacex.
  • Starlink, a division of Spacex, operates a constellation of close to 2000 satellites.
  • Spacex is a private American company, independent of US military and civilian space agency NASA.
