# Olympic updates

 

 

  • Ravi kumar dahiya registered a sensational triumph against Kazakhstan’s Nurislam Sanayev in the freestyle 57kg semifinal bout.
  • India is assured of a silver medal anh Ravi dahiya will play the gold medal match on thursday.
  • Indian women lost against Argentina in the semifinal and now will play the bronze medal match against Great Britain on friday.

 

 

 

# Indigenous aircraft carrier

 

 

  • The much awaited sea-trials of the country’s maiden indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant started on wednesday.
  • This indigenous aircraft carrier has been built by the public sector Cochin shipyard limited.
  • This aircraft carrier can carry 40000 tonne of load and is expected to join the Navy as INS Vikrant late next year.
  • The navy at present operates one aircraft carrier, INS Vikramaditya.

 

 

 

# Air quality commission bill

 

 

  • The lok sabha on wednesday passed the bill to formalise the commission for air quality management for national capital region.
  • The body has a full time chairperson and a range of members consisting of both representatives from several ministries as well as independent experts.

 

 

 

# Rajya sabha

 

 

  • The rajya sabha on wednesday passed three bills in about one hour.
  • The limited liability partnership (Amendment) bill 2021, seeks to encourage the start up ecosystem and further boost ease of doing business.
  • The Rajya sabha also passed the deposit insurance and credit gurantee corporation (amendment) bill, 2021.

 

 

 

# MPLADS projects

 

 

  • Virtually half of the belated 2200 crore rupees alloted for completing the MPLADS projects in 2020-21.
  • Spending under the members of parliament local area development scheme (MPLADS) had already halved before the government suspended the scheme for two years in april.
