# Right to life

 

 

  • The supreme court on friday disagreed with the uttar pradesh government’s proposal to conduct a “symbolic kanwar yatra” amid the pandemic.
  • Supreme court said fundamental rights of citizens across faiths and their right to life trumped religious sentiments.
  • The central government also filed an affidavit agrreing that kanwar yatra cannot be permitted at a full scale.

 

 

 

# Gandhinagar station

 

 

  • Prime minister Narendra modi on friday virtually inaugurated the redeveloped railway station in Gujarat’s capital Gandhinagar and a five star hotel above it.
  • PM Modi also inaugurated the redeveloped Vadnagar railway station in his hometown in North Gujarat.
  • In Ahmedabad, the prime minister also inaugurated a nature park, an aquatic gallery and robotic gallery at the science city.

 

 

 

# Delta variant

 

 

  • A majority over 86% of the breakthrough infections after covid-19 vaccination have been caused by the Delta variant.
  • In these breakthrough infections hospitalisation rate was 9.8% and fatality observed in 0.4% of cases.
  • ICMR had collected 677 clinical samples of individuals who have been partially or fully vaccinated but contracted the infection.

 

 

 

# Assam’s cattle protection bill

 

 

  • Assam’s budget for the 2021-22 fiscal aims to control cattle population through artificial insemination to ensure that upto 90% of the calves born are females and 10%% are males.
  • The proposal follows the tabling of the assam cattle protection bill, which seeks to ban the transportation of cattle and sale of beef within 5 km of temples.

 

 

 

# Paytm IPO

 

 

  • ONE97 communications, the parent company of digital payment services provider paytm, has filed a draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with markets regulator SEBI for an Initial public offerings of 16000 crore rupees.
  • The firm would issue fresh shares worth 8300 crores with a face value of rupee 1 each.
