Chief justice of India NV Ramanna criticised the way sedition laws are being used by governments to crush liberties.
CJI said these sedition laws were used against mahatma Gandhi and bal gangadhar tilak to crush freedom movement.
CJI also said that conviction rate is very low in cases filed under sedition.
# Bengal violence
The national human rights commission (NHRC) committee formed to investigate complaints of post poll violence in west bengal has recommended that cases of heinous crimes be transferred to the CBI.
In the report to the Calcutta high court on monday, the panel said it received 1979 complaints covering around 15000 victims during its inquiry.
Panel also advised to hold the trials of heinous crimes outside state.
# Draft drone rules, 2021
This drone rules aim to abolish the need for a large number of approvals and give impetus to research and development.
The ministry of civil aviation on thursday released the draft drone rules, 2021, for public consultation until august 5.
The rules will replace the unmanned aircraft system rules, 2021, notified on march 12, 2021.

Exports from India rose almost 32% to $49.85 billion in June from the year earlier.
