# Islamic state

 

 

  • There are four Indian women lodged in an Afghanistan prison, who went to Afghanistan to fight as Islamic state terrorist.
  • Indian government is unlikely to allow these women terrorists to return to India.
  • These women, all from Kerela, travelled to Nangorhar in Afghanistan between 2016 and 2018.
  • Their husbands were killed in different conflicts in Afghanistan.
  • An interview conducted by a strategic affairs website found that these women terrorists are highly radicalised and unfit to join the mainstream.

  • Karnataka high court has upheld the competition commission of India’s January 2020 orders to conduct an investigation through director general.
  • Investigation is regarding anti-competitive measures taken by Amazon and flipkart in violation of competition act 2002.

 

 

 

# Odisha turmeric farmers

 

 

  • Odisha’s turmeric farmers have found a foot hold in a market than promises perrenial return for their organic crop.
  • The turmeric grown in Laxmipur block of Koraput district is distinct as it contains Curcumin between between 5.5% and 6.66%.

 

 

 

# Kulbhushan Jadhav

 

 

  • Pakistan’s national assembly passed a bill to provide the right of appeal to death row prisoner Kulbhushan Jadhav amidst a ruckus and boycott by the opposition.
  • This bill is aimed at allowing Jadhav to have consular access in line with the ICJ verdict.
  • Jadhav, a 51 year old retired Indian navy officer, was sentenced to death by a pakistan military court on charges of espionage and terrorism in April 2017.
