# Third wave

 

 

  • The supreme court on thursday highlighted the need for the union government to start preparations for oxygen allocation to the states and its supply and distribution ahead of third wave.
  • Supreme court also advised to prepare a clear cut formula for allocation of oxygen to different states.
  • Delhi high court has said that the central government should exempt the GST levied on oxygen concentrators imported for personal use.

 

 

 

# Vaccine patent

 

 

  • France joined the US on thursday in supporting an easing of patent and other protections on covid-19 vaccines.
  • This patent waiver could help poorer countries get more doses and speed up the end of the pandemic.
  • The move to support waving intellectual property protections on vaccines under WTO rules marked a dramatic shift for the US.
  • France and Russia have also supported this move.

 

 

 

# China-Australia relations

 

 

  • China on thursday cut off a channel for diplomatic and trade talks with Australia in a largely symbolic act of fury.
  • Tensions between the two sides have soared since canberra called last year for an independent probe into the origin of the pandemic and banned telecom giant Huawei from building Australia’s 5G network.

 

 

 

# CRISIL

 

 

  • Half of CRISIL mid sized companies will be eligible for the restructuring window offered under the resolution framework 2.0.
  • Companies with relatively weaker credit profiles, and part of low-resilience sectors are expected to benefit more from the scheme.
