# S. jaishankar

  • The ministry of I&B has clarified that the over the top (OTT) platforms will not have to register with the government.
  • Ministry also cleared that there will be no government nominee present in the self regulating body.
  • The ministry statement followed an interaction between prakash javdekar and representatives of OTT platforms.
  • Supreme court also said in a case hearing on Tandav, the web series contents need to be screened as some of the contents even show pornography.

  • The employees provident fund organisation on thursday decided to retain 8.5% annual rate of interest on provident fund deposits for 2020-21 for its more than five crore subscribers.
  • At a meeting in Srinagar, the central board of trustees of the EPFO recommended 8.5% annual rate of interest.
  • The meeting was chaired by labour and employment minister santosh kumar gangwar.

 

 

 

# QS world university rankings

 

 

  • The Indian institute of science broke into the top 100 in the natural science category of of the QS world university rankings by subject 2021.
  • With regard to subject rankings, there are two new entrants in the top 100 list : JNU’s anthropology programme and OP jindal’s global university’s law programme.
  • In the broad engineering and technology category, only three institutions mase it to the top 100 – IIT Delhi, IIT bombay, IIT Madras.

  • Bengaluru and shimla were on thursday ranked as the most liveable in the categories of cities with more than and less than 1 million population respectively.
