# COVID-19 Vaccine

 

  • The covid-19 vaccine intelligence network (CO-WIN) system, a digitised platform, will be used to track the enlisted beneficiaries and the covid-19 vaccine on a real time basis.
  • Covid-19 operational guidelines has been released by the health ministry recently.
  • According to guidelines, latest electoral roll for the Lok sabha and assembly elections will be used to identify the priority population over the age of 50.
  • Only pre registered beneficiaries will be vaccinated in accordance with the prioritisation, and there will be no provision for onsite registration.
  • Covid-19 vaccine will be offered first to healthcare workers, frontline workers and to persons above 50, followed by persons younger than 50 with associated co-morbidities based on the pandemic situation.

 

 

 

# Delhi vaccination drive

 

  • The Delhi government has started training more than 400 doctors from different hospitals in the city for the covid-19 vaccination drive.
  • The government in the next stage will train auxiliary nurse midwives and nurses, who would be actual vaccinators.
  • Also, Delhi government hospitals are being trained to use FELUDA (FNCAS9 Editor limited uniform detection array) paper strip test for covid-19 on monday.
  • The FELUDA test is done in lab using a nasopharyngeal swab, just like the RT-PCR test, but it gives result within one hour, which is must faster than RT-PCR.

 

 

 

# Inflation data

  • India’s retail inflation based on the consumer price index (CPI) moderated marginally in november to 6.93%, from 7.61% recorded in october.
  • Food price inflation cooling off to 9.43% from 11% in the previous month.

 

 

 

# Renewable energy park

  • PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the world’s largest hybrid renewable energy park in gujarat’s Kutch district.
  • The park will generate 30000 mw power through solar panels and windmills on 72,600 hectares along the India-pakistan border.
  • It is being set up by the gujarat government with the participation of private players such as the Adani group, which is the country’s largest renewable power generator and Suzlon, a dominant player in wind energy.

 

 

# Indian ocean

  • Himgiri, the first of three stealth frigates being built by Garden reach shipbuilders and engineers (GRSE), Kolkata, under project 17 A for the navy, was launched into water on monday.
  • P17A ships with a displacement of around 6670 tonnes will be the most advanced state of the art guided missile frigates.
